
SURVIVORSHIP, QUALITY OF LIFE & REHABILITATION (SVP) SIG STRATEGIC PLAN 2006-2009
Mission Statement
The Survivorship, Quality of Life & Rehabilitation Special Interest Group (SIG) exists within the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) to increase awareness and promote understanding of cancer survivorship, quality of life & rehabilitation issues.
The Survivorship, Quality of Life & Rehabilitation SIG mission will be accomplished by implementing the following strategic goals:
- To develop products, services, opportunities and a knowledge base that promote excellence in oncology nursing in relation to survivorship, quality of life & rehabilitation issues.
- Enhance our personal knowledge and increase awareness regarding survivorship, quality of life and rehabilitation concerns with oncology patients.
- Identify priorities for improving quality of life for oncology patients.
- Increase ONS Health Policy activities including policy initiatives to influence cancer nursing, cancer nursing research, cancer care, health care and nursing issues in relation to survivorship, quality of life & rehabilitation issues.
- Strengthen collaboration with external organizations and corporations.
- To increase survivorship, quality of life and rehabilitation-related resources in order to ensure the continued growth and strength of ONS.
- Strengthen the Survivorship, Quality of Life & Rehabilitation Special Interest Group (SIG).
- Collaboration and network with ONS members to increase SVP membership.
